AFRICAN KIDS ZONE MUSIC
All Nations Ministries has started AFRICAN KIDS ZONE MUSIC, which offers music lessons twice a week to children aged 8-14 who come from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds, most of whom reside in Plymouth. Provide musical instruments such as electric guitar keyboards, saxophones, drum kits and African drumming.
The AFRICAN KIDS ZONE MUSIC project addresses the needs of children from low-income/refugee families and single-parent households who struggle to afford leisure activities or formal lessons. Recognising the risk of some children and young people, particularly black males, in engaging in anti-social behaviour such as knife crime and other acts of violence such as gang fights, the project builds on a successful past initiative by the charity by providing free music activities which allow participants expression to their emotions and frustrations in a creative way. It directly responds to a gap in provision in the area, identified through consultations with parents.
The initiative aims to extend benefits to needy children, fostering confidence, reducing isolation, improving mental health and concentration and promoting teamwork and friendship among participants. Police will be invited to attend the celebration and some of the music sessions including members of the local Police Diverse Communities Team.
The KIDS ZONE MUSIC project supported by The Phoenix Way.
